To guide us in this discussion, we will be using the chart on Investopedia.com, which shows the performance of the different months since 1950. However, we have an exciting update – the chart now has a new layout, with bars representing the performance for the past 20, 10, and 5 years. This gives us a better understanding of how each month has been performing over time. As we zoom in, we can see that in the last 5 years, January has been generally positive, but February has been negative. This is a stark contrast to the previous charts, where February was slightly positive after a decline from January.

But if we look at the past 10 years, we can see that February has had a slight overall positivity, although still a decline from January.
