Make Money Trading Post Elections

Welcome to our latest [Make Money Trading Post Elections] video on making money through trading in the post-election market. In our previous [Make Money Trading in October of a Presidential Election Year] video , we discussed strategies for pre-election trades and identified potential Trump trades if he were to win and also looked at potential positive and negative impacts if Paris were to win. Now, with the election results in, we have a better understanding of the market and can see which trades were profitable and which were not.

Some of the positive trades we had identified were in the oil and natural gas industry, specifically for producers, service companies, and exploration companies. We also saw a positive spike in cryptocurrencies, with Bitcoin hitting new all-time highs. It is also worth noting that Trump is in favor of nuclear power, so we can expect positive opportunities in that industry. Additionally, companies that benefit from reduced regulations, such as utilities and lease companies, may also see positive impacts.

On the other hand, we also identified some potential negatives that could arise from Trump’s policies. The pharmaceutical and biotech industry may face challenges due to his focus on reducing healthcare costs. His stance on tariffs could also have a negative impact on certain industries, especially exporters and commodities. We also discuss the potential retaliatory actions from countries like China and how they could affect US exports.

Let’s start by looking at its chart on FinViz, and then we’ll also check it out on ChartMill. We can see that it’s a quarterly dividend payer with a low float and low volume. In this [What is the Best Utility Sector ETF? | VPU UTSL XLU UPW SDP] video , we will be discussing a new addition to our ETF research sheet, mentioned by @EZMike He introduced us to VPU, the Vanguard utilities ETF. We will take a closer look at VPU and compare it with other utilities ETFs available in the market.

In our ETF Google sheet, in the research tab, we can explore and analyze different ETFs. At the bottom of the sheet, we have added VPU. We will also refer to the Finviz chart, which can be accessed through the link in the Finviz URL column. The chart shows a 52-week risk-reward of 1.29. We have also identified the support and resistance levels, and it looks like 140 is a potential resistance near the previous peak. VPU pays a quarterly dividend of $130 and is optionable.

Looking at its profile, VPU seeks to track the performance of the MSCI US Investable Market Index for utilities. We will also look at its composition in the ETF database, where the top three utilities are Southern Company, Duke, and Nextera.
