Despite its attractive nominal yield, the total return for this ETF is only 2%, with a high expense ratio of 1.4. However, it does have a decent support level and has the potential for some upside if the volatility declines.

Best ETF to Use to Short the VIX? | SVOL | SVXY | SVIX | Quick Take

In this short [Best ETF to Use to Short the VIX? | SVOL | SVXY | SVIX | Quick Take] video we will do a detailed comparison of three popular ETFs on the VIX – SVOL, SVXY, and SVIX. These ETFs are all short on the VIX, with SVIX being a minus one short, SVOL being a monthly dividend payer, and SXVX being around 1.5 on the short. We will analyze their risk profiles to determine which one is the best option for short-term and long-term trading.

Firstly, we will look at the risk profiles of these ETFs. Despite having a shorter duration, SVIX has a slightly higher short-term risk reward compared to the other two. However, even in the long-term, it offers a higher risk-reward ratio. On the other hand, SVOL has a lower short-term risk, but its risk-reward ratio is significantly lower. This is an important factor to consider, especially for those looking to hold their short positions for an extended period.

Additionally, we will also take into account the monthly dividend payout for SVOL, which stands at 30 cents. While this may seem appealing, it may not be worth it in the long run, considering the volatility of the VIX.
