This week, we have added IIP to our sheet, which is a real estate investment trust (REIT) focused on industrial warehousing. We will take a quick look at IIPR, as it has been declining and caught our interest due to its potential as a dividend payer. We have also added IIPR to our dividend payers sheet, where it currently has a negative total return for the year. However, it does have a decent risk reward profile and is currently paying a quarterly dividend with a 10% nominal yield.

Beauty Inc | Quick Take] video , we will begin by looking at a cosmetics company, ELF, which recently had disappointing earnings and poor guidance resulting in a significant decrease in their stock value. We will discuss the potential of selling puts on ELF, as well as some sympathy plays such as Estee Lauder and Cody. We have manually added data on Cody to our research sheet, and though it may not currently have an attractive ROIC, we will still analyze the stock. Looking at ELF, we can see that it has a high ROIC at a 65 strike with a 52-week high of over 6.5%.

In this [How to Trade the VIX | Quick Take] video , we will be discussing the various ETFs that can be used to trade volatility | the VIX in the stock market. Recently, @RT posed the question of what one can trade VIX with, specifically mentioning SVXY and UVXY. Well, we have a number of ETFs available in our ETF Google sheet for trading volatility | the VIX, including UVXY, SVXY, VXX, and SVIX. We also have a dividend payer on volatility, which is SVOL, with dividend payment information available on our Dividend Payers Google sheet.

For shorter term swings and scalps, we typically use UVXY long and SVXY short. This is one of our favorite trades as it allows us to catch a pop and then short the VIX back down, as it naturally retraces. We also use UVXY long to long big futures, which are VIX futures based, and s SVXY short pops in the VIX. @TheKrow mentions using UVIX, but there are a number of other ETFs available for trading the VIX, including VXX. It’s important to look at the composition and the futures they are based on, as well as the risk-reward profile before deciding which one to trade.

We are actively working on enhancing our covered call Google sheet and this week, we have added a new column – the risk-reward (RR) column. This column will show the risk-reward profile by calculating the sell price divided by the Delta for that strike price and expiration. Our goal is to optimize the premium we receive while minimizing the risk of getting called away, especially for positions where the strike price is lower than the buying price.

We believe this new column will help us optimize our covered call strategy and in this video, we will walk you through the process. We will also discuss other important factors to consider when picking a strike price.

How To See Futures Contracts Prices

In this [How To See Futures Contracts Prices] video , we will be discussing the impetus for me to start looking for a way to see futures or future contracts on various commodities. Specifically, we will be looking at wheat and how its WEAT ETF on Wheat Futures is comprised of contracts for May, July, and December, making up about 30% of the December contract. As I was researching, I came across this helpful site called BarChart Futures, which allows you to see the contracts for various months. I have included the link in the video’s description and on our homepage at https://beachbmtrading.com/ for your convenience.

On the BarChart Futures site, you can see an overview of all the different futures contracts for various industries, including 10-year treasuries, major commodities like oil, natural gas, gold, and silver, as well as foreign currencies and even Bitcoin. This is not just limited to commodities, so it is a useful tool for investors of various interests.

We will be focusing on the wheat contracts, specifically the May, July, and December contracts. As we can see, all three of these were trending up, explaining the recent bounce back of the WEAT ETF.

As beginners, it’s important to have multiple ways to make money trading. That’s why in this series, we’ll not only cover the basics of option trading but also discuss different strategies that can help generate income while waiting for our swing trade stocks to set up.

One of the strategies we use is the covered call strategy. By selling covered calls against our positions, we can generate our own dividends and enhance our existing positions. We use a covered calls Google sheet to analyze different covered call strategies and select the ones that best fit our goals.

To access this Google sheet and use it for your own what-if analysis on covered call strategies, you can join our Patreon. In this video, we’ll also take a look at a recent example with Enphase (ENPH), where we got assigned a put and then sold covered calls to generate our own “Dividends” on our position.

In our covered calls Google sheet, we have added a Delta column and a Last Updated column, which can help us make optimal decisions regarding the Strike Price and Expiration Date at which to Sell our Covered Calls.

I recently added a new company, MGA, to our sheet and we will be taking a closer look at it. MGA is a Canadian auto parts company that was identified by our options roic tool. We will also be discussing the potential trading opportunities for this stock based on its fundamentals and technical setup.

MGA currently has a 40 strike price and a current expiration date. You can access their profile through the links provided in the comments column. This company is optionable and pays a small dividend of 4%. Despite recent negative sentiment in the auto parts industry, MGA has a strong potential for upside with a low PE and a solid support level at 40.

We will also be looking at MGA’s chart on Chart Mill, a resource that can be found on our homepage http://BeachBmTrading.com The setup for MGA looks very positive, making it a potential short-term swing trade or a candidate for selling puts. Selling Puts on LW | Lamb Weston | Quick Take

In this [Selling Puts on LW | Lamb Weston | Quick Take] video , we will be focusing on LW (Lamb Weston Holdings) and analyzing its charts and profiles using FinViz. Accessing the charts for LW and other stocks is made easy through the FinViz URL in the comments column of our Puts ROIC Google sheet.

Lamb Weston Holdings is a consumer defensive company that specializes in packaged food, particularly frozen potato products like French fries. As we can see from the charts, the company has had some negative earnings reports and significant drops in the stock price. However, it is also a dividend payer with a low PE ratio and plenty of shares available.

The recent decline in net income and EPS can be attributed to the current trend towards healthier food options (GLP1). This trend may have caused an overreaction in the market, resulting in the big drops in the stock price. But looking at the longer-term trend, we can see that LW has a relatively stable bottom around the $50 mark. This is why we have chosen to add the $50 strike price to our research sheet and potentially sell puts to take advantage of the decline in LW.

Hello and welcome to BeachBum Trading! If you’re new to the world of stocks and options, you may have come across the term “At The Money” or ATM. In this short [What does it mean when a Stock Option is At The Money (ATM)?] video , we’ll break down what it means when a stock option is At The Money and why it’s an important concept to understand.

First, let’s define what an option is. An option is a contract that gives the buyer the right to buy or sell a stock at a specific price, known as the strike price, on or before a specific date. Now, when the strike price is the same as the current market price, the option is considered At The Money.

To help you understand this analogy, think of it like standing at a cash machine. You have the option to withdraw money at the same amount that you currently have in your account. Similarly, when an option is At The Money, it has the highest time value and the lowest intrinsic value. This means that it has the highest chance of reaching its strike price and making a profit.

However, it’s important to note that the stock price can go up or down, which means the option can become Out Of The Money or In The Money, depending on where the stock price moves.

Hello and welcome to our latest short [What does it mean when a Stock Option is Out of The Money (OTM)?] video where we will be discussing a common question around the stock market – [What does it mean when a stock option is out of the money?]

Options are a great way to potentially profit from the stock market without actually owning the underlying asset. But when an option is labeled as “out of the money” or OTM, it can be confusing for many investors. But fear not, in this video we will explain this concept in a simple and straightforward way.

First, let’s define what an option is. An option is a financial contract that gives the buyer the right, but not the obligation, to buy or sell an underlying asset at a specific price within a certain time frame.

So, what does it mean when an option is out of the money? Essentially, it means that the option’s strike price is not favorable to the current market price of the underlying asset. What is the SKEW Index?
Welcome to today’s short [What is the SKEW Index?] video ! Have you heard of the skew index? If not, don’t worry, I’m here to explain it to you. The skew index is a measurement of investor sentiment in market risk. It basically shows the amount of fear or uncertainty in the stock market. This index was created by the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and is based on the price of out-of-the-money options for the S&P 500.

So why should you care about this index? Well, the skew index can be a useful tool for investors as it gives them an idea of market sentiment. If the index is above 100, it indicates that investors are worried about potential market crashes. By keeping an eye on the skew index, investors can make more informed decisions about their investments.

The good news is that you can easily track the skew index online and it is updated every 15 minutes during market hours. So the next time you’re thinking of making an investment, make sure to check the skew index first.

Welcome to our latest short [What are LEAPs Stock Options?] video where we will be discussing LEAPs stock options. Have you ever heard of them? LEAPs, or Long-Term Equity Anticipation Securities, are stock options with longer expiration dates, typically more than one year. In this video, we will explore how LEAPs work, their advantages, and the potential risks involved.

Let’s say you are interested in buying a LEAPs option for a certain company. With this type of option, you have the right to buy or sell a specific number of shares at a predetermined price, known as the strike price, within a certain timeframe. This longer timeframe gives you the advantage of more time for the stock to move in your favor without the pressure of a short-term option.

One of the major benefits of LEAPs is the lower premiums, meaning you can have a larger exposure to the stock with less money. However, it’s important to remember that with the longer timeframe, there is also a higher risk involved. As with any stock option, there is a potential to lose all of your investment if the stock moves against you.

In summary, LEAPs stock options can provide investors with longer timeframes and lower premiums, but they do come with higher risk.

For those of you who are not familiar, ETFs are exchange-traded funds that are made up of a basket of different securities such as stocks, bonds, or commodities. They are a popular investment option due to their diversification and low-cost structure. However, in the UK, individuals are not able to directly purchase ETFs like they can in other countries.

But don’t worry, we have a handy tip for you and all of our BeachBum Traders. In our ETFs Google sheet, there is an “optionable” column that indicates which ETFs are available for options trading. However, we noticed that LSCC had a high of $480 in the past, which would offer a return on capital of over 6%. Today, we wanted to address a question from one of our regular viewers, @MD, who asked us about selling puts on HP last week. In this [Selling Puts on HP | Helmerich & Payne | Quick Take] video , we will try to answer that question and provide some insights on the possibility of using options on the online browser version of Webull.

Firstly, let’s clarify that when discussing HP, we’re not referring to Hewlett Packard, but rather Helmerich & Payne (symbol HP), a fossil fuel company specializing in energy equipment and services. So, if we enter HP on the options tab, we can see that there are options available, specifically a put at $32. Currently, the stock is trading below this level and the premiums seem to be on the lower side, with a slight increase recently.

Looking at the stock in Finviz, we can see that it is below the previous dip, which could be a good indication to potentially sell a put. However, with the current low volatility, the premiums might not be as attractive, and you might have to go out a bit further in time to get a better return.
