Today, we take a closer look at IEP – or Icahn Enterprises. @Alan Krentz has asked us to provide our insights into this company, so we’ve added it to our dividend payers list. With a nominal yield of 30%, IEP certainly caught our attention. However, upon further analysis, we found that its performance has been quite negative this year, with a 33% drop. In this [IEP | Icahn Enterprises L.P. | Quick Take Update] video , we’ll take a look at the risk-reward profile of IEP, including its chart and recent trends. Since then, IEP has had a big drop in August, followed by a recent bounce after resolving some lawsuits. Looking at their definition, IEP has a diverse portfolio of investments in different segments, including oil and gas. However, despite this diversification, they have had significant losses in the past year, with a negative EPS. This may be a red flag for shareholders, especially if they are unable to maintain their current dividend payout. Additionally, IEP has a high level of debt.
