In this [Best ETF to Use to Trade Mid-Term Volatility? | VIXM | Quick Take] video , we will also be taking a closer look at a midterm Futures ETF, VIXM, which focuses on volatility. We will analyze its risk-reward ratio and compare it to other ETFs in our research sheet. VIXM has a mid-range risk-reward ratio of 1.46, but for longer-term investments, it has a potential upside of 3.7. This ETF has a unique composition compared to others in the volatility space, and its performance is closely tied to the VIX.

One interesting feature of VIXM is its optionability, allowing for more flexibility in trading strategies. Its expense ratio is slightly higher at 0.85%, and its assets under management and daily trading volume are also on the lower side. However, this ETF provides an opportunity for traders to focus on the mid-section of the VIX.

In today’s [How to Trade the VIX | UVIX | Quick Take] video , we’re going to take a deeper look at the world of volatility and specifically, long VIX ETFs. As some of you may remember, in our last video, we mentioned the UVIX 2x Long VIX Futures ETF, but now, we’re going to compare it to some of the other popular long VIX ETF options out there.

First, let’s take a look at the volatility ETFs, where we can compare the UVIX to some of the other long VIX options available. We have several to choose from, including UVXY and VXX. From a risk-reward perspective, UVXY currently has a better profile, but it is also significantly higher than its support level from a 52 week standpoint. On the other hand, the UVIX actually performs better when we look at the 52 week risk-rewards.

But that’s not all we’re looking at today. We’ll also examine the composition of the UVIX ETF and its recent split, as well as compare it to other popular options like UVXY and VXX. It’s important to note that while UVXY and UVIX are ETFs, VXX is an ETN.

How to Trade the VIX | Quick Take
In this [How to Trade the VIX | Quick Take] video , we will be discussing the various ETFs that can be used to trade volatility | the VIX in the stock market. Recently, @RT posed the question of what one can trade VIX with, specifically mentioning SVXY and UVXY. Well, we have a number of ETFs available in our ETF Google sheet for trading volatility | the VIX, including UVXY, SVXY, VXX, and SVIX. We also have a dividend payer on volatility, which is SVOL, with dividend payment information available on our Dividend Payers Google sheet.

For shorter term swings and scalps, we typically use UVXY long and SVXY short. This is one of our favorite trades as it allows us to catch a pop and then short the VIX back down, as it naturally retraces. We also use UVXY long to long big futures, which are VIX futures based, and s SVXY short pops in the VIX. @TheKrow mentions using UVIX, but there are a number of other ETFs available for trading the VIX, including VXX. It’s important to look at the composition and the futures they are based on, as well as the risk-reward profile before deciding which one to trade.
