Aside from our regular dividend payers, we also use several option strategies to generate income while waiting for our swing trading stocks to set up. One of our strategies is selling covered calls against our positions when they are going up and buying them back when they are coming down. We are actively working on enhancing our covered call Google sheet and this week, we have added a new column – the risk-reward (RR) column. This column will show the risk-reward profile by calculating the sell price divided by the Delta for that strike price and expiration. Our goal is to optimize the premium we receive while minimizing the risk of getting called away, especially for positions where the strike price is lower than the buying price.

We believe this new column will help us optimize our covered call strategy and in this video, we will walk you through the process. We will also discuss other important factors to consider when picking a strike price.
