In this [OILU | OILD | Leveraged ETFs to Long & Short Oil | Quick Take] video , we will be focusing on some new ETFs that was mentioned in our live chat last week – the Micro Sector Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Leveraged ETNs. These 3X leveraged ETNs (exchange-traded note) are a great addition to our research sheet and we will compare it to some other leveraged ETFs such as GUSH and DRIP.

We will start by discussing the risk profile for OILU and OILD, the long and short versions of oil. These ETFs have shown strong performance in the past, with a potential for significant gains. However, it’s important to note that these ETFs are not optionable and have low volumes which may present some liquidity issues.

In this [DIG | ProShares Ultra Energy | Quick Take] video , we will be discussing the risk-reward profile of an energy ETF called DIG | ProShares Ultra Energy. We will be comparing it to our other energy longs, DBE and ERX. Currently, the price of DIG is around $44, which is relatively high as the energy market has been performing well. The ETF has a 1.5-1.62 risk-reward ratio for the past 52 weeks, which is comparable to our other energy ETFs. DBE and ERX have ratios of 1.3-1.6 and bottom-to-top performance of 29%, making them slightly better than Dig.

We will be using tools like Finviz and the ETF Database to analyze the performance of DIG. It has shown a solid 33% performance this year and pays a small dividend of 24 cents, with a 1% yield. Some of the top holdings of this ETF include BNP Swaps, Bank of America, Exxon Mobil, Chevron, and ConocoPhillips. It also has a 2x leverage on the daily performance of the overall energy sector through XLE.

In comparison, ERX is a 2x bull ETF, making it comparable to DIG.
