Currently, EZA is trading at around $45, which is in the middle of its range. It has a 52-week risk reward ratio of about 1:4, so the current risk reward is not super great but also not too risky. Upon searching for EZA, we can see that it is heavily composed of gold-related companies such as Gold Fields, a bank, and Anglo Gold. This is not surprising as South Africa is a major global producer of gold.

One advantage of EZA is that it pays a dividend, with a buy bi-annual dividend of $262. It is also optionable, meaning that you can write covered calls, making it a potential source of additional income. Additionally, it is shortable, so you can short the ETF to bet against South Africa’s economic performance.
